Today we make a range of excellent foods for working dogs, whatever their age, breed or condition.
Much has changed since it all began, the mill has long since gone to be replaced by the very latest state-of-the-art equipment, but the same family passion still continues today.
Our Field & Trial range has been developing since the early 1970s, when it all began with just two products. As our reputation grew and customers demanded different diets to suit their working dogs’ needs, so the range has expanded.

Field & Trial sensitive diets for adult working dogsOur Field & Trial sensitive diets have all been specifically formulated to exclude ingredients that are known to cause sensitivities or allergies. Therefore reducing the likelihood of associated skin, coat and digestive problems. There are currently three flavours to choose from in the Field & Trial sensitive adult diet range. Duck and Rice and Salmon and Rice are both big favourites with many of our customers, whilst the Turkey & Rice has the added benefit of a joint aid supplement. They are all free from wheat, maize, barley, soya and dairy products. All three also contain glucosamine and chondroitin to help protect your dog’s joints and mobility and they also include a coating of sunflower oil, which is a valuable source of energy and helps to maintain a healthy coat. |
Field & Trial diets for less active or senior dogsOur newly launched Field & Trial Light & Senior dog food is ideal for older, overweight or less active working dogs. It is wheat gluten free, made with easily digestible chicken and contains enhanced levels of glucosamine and chondroitin. Like humans, some dogs can be prone to weight gain as they become older or less active. Neutered or spayed dogs can also be prone to excessive weight gain due to reduced energy requirements. Older, overweight or less active dogs still need a carefully balanced diet with high quality ingredients to maintain their health and condition. Field & Trial Light & Senior contains everything required to keep your dog in the peak of health. |
Field & Trial Maintenance for the closed season and Muesli Mix for added biteField & Trial Maintenance dog food is specially formulated to meet the typical needs of working dogs during the closed season. It contains all the goodness of chicken with cereals, oils and vitamins, but with a lower level of protein to suit a lighter workload. Field & Trial Muesli Mix has been carefully formulated to meet the needs of working dogs with a moderate workload. It consists of a variety of tastes and textures coated in a delicious, moist wheat glucose syrup that even fussy dogs will tuck into and enjoy, every meal time. |

It was a good kibble to use for an older dog to watch his weight make sure he wasn’t gaining.It would be good to be able to get an in between size bag we can only get small or large- but I have 2 dogs on different diets it’s very expensive now – also to support elderly dog on joint mobility supplements injections physio vets * chiropractor bottom of the que is the biscuits although you want the best price comes into it.

We started using only dry food after veg recommendations, however mix in 1 spoon of jelly mix wet food just for a different taste, we’ve been using this brand for years now, occasional when we’ve run out we switch slowly over to another brand and it upsets our dogs stomach so we’ve have stuck with this brand for nearly 10yrs. we switch the flavours over every other order so it provides a bit of variety, it’s a shame the bags aren’t slightly smaller so we can swap the flavour more regular. We have a large dog and get through approx 1 bag every month. He is 11yrs now so it would be good to be reassured he’s on the a senior diet with extra nutrition for arthritus and joint movement.
