Here are the reasons I give this 5 *****Puppy likes it and doesn’t mind me putting it onGood priceGreat Fit – small size fits my 5 – 6 month old Cavachon perfectly with room for a bit of growing. With the atrocious weather – rain – for the past 2 months she has worn this everyday to protect from mud and rain. The coat is always dry inside even when she’s been out in the rain.Easy to put on – straight over her head. I can get her harness clips through the hole to attach the lead.Easy to clean – spot clean or on a cool wash, it dries really quickly on a radiatorLooks nice, good quality.
‘Marble’ –
I have a toy poodle and ordered small in accordance with the measurements. It fits her body snugly and keeps her warm and her tummy is largely protected from mud splatters which is all good, but it is a tad too short in length. The next size up was far too big all round. The result is that I cannot used the elasticated rear leg straps as, when I tried, she began waddling rather than trotting. She wears a harness and it has a zipped hole in the back for that so it can’t fall off whilst on the lead. I have also now tried it with her off the lead and am happy to say the coat stays in place whilst she is racing around, even without the rear leg straps. There is considerable leeway for tightening or loosening the velcro chest strap which is excellent. It also keeps her dry and warm in the rain and is machine washable. All-in-all, we are both very happy with it. Just an add-on to say that I now always order this coat as it so good and easy to put on.

This is a lovely coat, beautifully soft and light but waterproof. I chose it especially because it has the chest and part tummy protection. I chose XL as it stated on the site size chart that XL is the recommended size for a setter, which Ailsa is and when I measured her from collar to tail the size seemed okay – however when it arrived (quicker than stated) it is a little bit shorter along her back than I would have liked – however I think if I had ordered the XXL it would have been too big and baggy around the chest area as she is quite narrow shouldered, but rather long in the body – I luckily am handy with a sewing machine and so I am going to add a bit to the length by using a bit of waterproof material I have.But do be careful about measuring carefully and if your dog seems to be in-between sizes I would suggest going for the bigger size, to be sure the length is correct. I think it would be really good if there was a choice of length (with the same chest size), so it would be easy to get the right length without having to have a broader chest size – but hey ! for the price and quality of the coat, this really is great value, I’m really pleased with it and Ailsa seems quite comfortable in it, she can run around and it stays perfectly in place.
MirubyBoxers (A&J) –
I have bought 2 of these costs recently for my boxer girls. They are well made but I have yet to see if they survive the boxer test which is pretty tough. A different Ancol jacket only lasted 4 months!! Usually if anything “goes” the stud fastening used to hold the elastic come off but that’s not too bad as most dogs don’t like the elastic anyway.The reflective tape around the coat shows up really well in the dark and is a nice trim during the day.The waterproof outer is great and if a little mud should get on it a quick wipe with a damp cloth works well. The fleece inside is lovely and warm on those chilly days so the combo is really good.The jacket is very easy to put on, over the head and the chest strap goes between the front legs and then Velcro over the back.My one issue is with the sizing of these jackets. I measured both of my girls and they were both size XL. Now one jacket fitted perfectly, on my more muscular girl, she’s bigger around the shoulders. However on my other girl I would have been better getting a size smaller probably but then the coat would have been too short. The issue is in the sizing around the shoulders, if the dog is big enough the jacket is fine. If however your dog is long enough in the back but finer in the shoulders the head hole slides down the back and the coat is too long. My solution was to just catch the neck hole with a couple of stitches to make the hole smaller and stop the coat sliding down but not everyone wants to do that. This would not be the jacket for a long backed, broad chested, narrow waisted dogs, as the jackets get bigger so do the waist bands( no measurements given).

I’ve had these for all my dogs over the years, last one lasted 10 years. This one is perfect, same great quality and fit. The only thing I would point out is the colour, this is not blue , it is navy blue but otherwise a warm sturdy dog coat that will last for years. You won’t get better.

Good quality, well made, comfortable fit, warm fleece lining, washes well, dries quickly, keeps our shaved dogs nicely warm on chilly days.
