It is said that fleas hide so successfully in thick cat fur, and that cats clean themselves so fastidiously, that you stand a better chance of finding an ingested flea in a cat stool sample than seeing it on your cat. |
It is a decidedly bad idea to have a stressed cat loose in the car, which is why I advise against administering anything during the trip. This is why applying a pheromone spray in the car is often the most practical method of calming a cat during journeys. |
Cats are (unlike humans, dogs and horses) by nature solitary and independent creatures. No wonder, then, that the living conditions we offer them often lead to stress. |

It is beyond the scope of this book to discuss the considerations of a professional veterinary homeopath when planning the treatment for an individual case. It takes three to four years of homeopathic study, and a lifetime of experience for a vet to learn how to use homeopathy to treat chronic illness such as allergies or epilepsy. |
Please, please, please, don’t lose sight of the main message of this book, which is this: when treating holistically, the treatment is never based simply on the diagnosis. Holistic treatment is always chosen specifically for each and every individual patient. |
You want a vet, of course, who is good at their job, and who has a good bedside manner. There is more to it than that, however, and the right vet for your neighbour may not be the right vet for you. |

I heard about this book through A Dog’s Life podcasts with Anna Webb. A comprehensive and informative book, a great tool for any dog and cat owner, I would highly recommend it. This book takes you through your cat and dog’s life stages, providing a great insight to the reader. Page formatting results in the book being easy to follow and provides a great understanding into conventional and homeopathic treatments. A must read for any (and any potential) cat and dog owners.

I’m so grateful we were recommended to contact Dr Lise by another homeopathic Vet. Our dogs seizures were increasing in occurrence to the point that we were convinced he won’t wake up anymore. She agreed to look at his situation and asked questions that no vet or specialist has been vet take the time to ask before and prescribed a remedy that she felt he would respond well to and he did. It’s now been 45 days since our dogs last seizure which is absolutely incredible for our dog and the quality of all of our lives. Our boy is currently still being monitored by Dr. Lise and we can only hope that with her knowledge and methods we can carry on enjoying our beautiful boy.

Great book for those of us who are intelligent consumers and know that some things we are told by the commercial organisations just don’t make sense. This is a really honest and informative book about the health of our dogs and cats written by a well researched practice vet and homeopathic vet.It contains the latest information which your own vet practice may not know unless they have newly trained vets joining them with the latest research under their belts.

Lots of things I didn’t understand about feeding, for example, were explained clearly here. I love the balanced combination of scientific data, medication and alternative treatment possibilities. It’s really hard to understand the way that veterinary practice works, I think. It’s even more opaque and unexamined than medical practice, at least in the UK, so an animal owner must work pretty hard to be fully informed about all the options available to them. This book has done so much work for you!I just wish I’d had it fifteen years ago when I first started being the adult in charge of pets!

An absolute must read and must follow for all pet owners. Was a total eye opener for me. I will never go back to the pet owner I was. Don’t stay ignorant and don’t believe what medical and food manufacturers have literally brain washed us to believe. The truth is in this book based on research and hands on experience.
