Product Description

The central hanging wire makes this feeder easy to hang from branches or feeder stations. Whilst it is stable for song birds to perch and feed on, the design makes it less stable for large birds such as pigeons, and dare we say it – squirrels (although we would suggest a squirrel baffle to make sure of this).

Individual feeder has a capacity of 600 grams and can take either seed or nuts. The lid has a simple twist and lock opening mechanism that make it possible to refill while hanging.

The feeder base has drainage holes in the base to keep the tray from filling with water and has 6 feeding ports to enable all round dining; this makes viewing easier and increases the potential for attracting a variety of birds to the feeder.

    Nice big bird feeders and even though the squirrels can still get to the seed they don’t seem to be so keen on putting there noses into the little gap the seed comes out of so I’m saving money too! Easy to use a small twist of the roof and it’s open but shuts firmly unlike others I’ve had in the past, a twisted metal string goes through from bottom to top and they didn’t even come off the hooks in the storms!! The big bird and little birds are able to share the food easier as there a 6 holes to feed from.

    Really good value for money. Keep the bird food fresh and protects from the elements. Easy for multiple birds to feed from.

    These feeders hold quite a lot of suet pellets and the birds seem to like them they survived a gale last night and torrential rain so I’d say they’re sturdy so far very pleased with them definitely worth the money I paid for them.

    I like the plastic coated wire (I hope it’s that), because I bought a similar lantern years ago, and the wire didn’t last very long. The construction seems sturdier as well. It was easier to put one lid on than the other, but still very good. The price for the pair was brilliant, which means I can use one, and have a clean one ready. It’s attracted lots of the smaller birds, and starlings. We have several sparrows using the lantern at the same time. Due to Covid, we’re “shielded”, and can not leave the house at all, so this has been a particular joy to see and hear.

    Replaced a vertical feeder with perches and access holes –useless! It has taken a week but our robin has started using this new feeder- finally! A large collared dove has also tried but the feeder swung under the doves weight. Lots of rain but seed looks ok unlike previous feeder which allowed seed to get wet through the 2 levels of feeder holes. Sturdy plastic, well made, delivered ahead of schedule. Recommended.
