This is the only cat food I buy for my cats now. I have, and have had cats with varied health needs and this food seems to have served them all well, and promoted good health for them.Until last year we had 4 cats, sadly my two old men both passed on last year. They are/were all rescue animals. The 2 that died last year each had their own health problems – one had needed most of his teeth removed due to severe tooth decay that occurred before we adopted him, and also had a very delicate stomach; and the other had a heart murmur and as such also quite a delicate renal system. They were middle aged when we got them, and due to their lives prior to us, and their health problems we were told by the shelter that A) They would require an extremely expensive veterinary specialist diet & B) They would not have a long life expectancy, they predicted – as did our vet when we took them for a check over when we first took them in – that they would only live to about 11-12.Well, the expensive food we were recommended didn’t seem to be doing that so much benefit, the one with few teeth often had a very loose tummy, and the other was often on and off the litter tray able to only pass small amounts of urine at a time. While obviously also seeking the vets treatment and advice, I started trying them on different foods to see if anything improved matters.Having tried several with little difference, I happened upon this Purina Pro Plan Delicate cat food when it came on offer in the local pet store.Within the space of a week, the toothless cat was no longer suffering with loose stools, and his breath also improved. The cat with the heart and kidney trouble was finally able to pass urine properly and was no longer on and off the tray. They both seemed livelier and more energetic, and their coats also improved – this was probably through general health improvement rather than the food itself, but they were all noticeable differences. A few months after things had settled down I did try moving across to a cheaper similar food but within 2 weeks the old problems began to appear, so after that we just stuck with this one.A couple of years after adopting those 2, we took in another 2 cats who were kittens at the time. Once they moved onto adult food, I did briefly try them on a cheaper dry food, but they were far more interested in the other cat’s bowls that contained the Purina than their own, so I switched them to this also. The male had to have all his teeth removed when he got a serious gum infection and abscess in his mouth and I worried if he would cope with these dry biscuits, but I needn’t have worried – it only took him a couple of days to get back on them and he doesn’t seem to have any trouble with them. The female will only eat this food. She is an extremely fussy cat, she will not eat anything except these – not treats, not fresh cooked chicken, only this food. All my cats have thrived on this food. The two much-missed old men reached the ages of 16 – just a few weeks shy of 17, and the other had just turned 17. considering the expectancy when we got them they did really well. They were happy and healthy right up to the end and died of old age.The two I still have seem very happy with this food. The male has an impaired sense of smell following the serious illness when he was a kitten, but this food seems to be very appetising and appealing to him. The girl is as fussy as ever, and this is the only food she will accept, the one time there was some kind of supply issue and I was out of this for a week she pretty much refused to eat anything, and she will only eat out of a particular bowl, which has to be placed on the same tile in the bathroom!I highly recommend this food, it is a complete food for adult cats, and the biscuits are good for their teeth (those that have them!). It really seems to promote good health, and appeals to even the fussiest of eaters. The “optirenal” thing does genuinely seem to alleviate some kidney and bladder problems and it is gentle on delicate tummies. As for the humans – it is convenient as it is a complete food for your cats so you can simply measure out a portion of this and don’t need to add anything. It comes in different sizes including a generous 3kg size which lasts us 3-4 weeks for 2 small cats, and the bag had a handle on one side, and opens across a corner and is resealable so it is easy to use, pour and store. It doesn’t have a strong unpleasant odour like some cats foods do, even some bscuits. Because it is dry food it is easy to clean the bowls after meals, and any spillage is easy to sweep up. It is not the cheapest cat food but in my opinion – and my cats opinions – this is the best food.

My 2 big ginger idiots love it but they’re greedy pigs that eat anything I give them so unsure if it would be appetizing for picky eaters. I’m reassured that they’re getting the nutrients they need from this, and have marvelous thick glossy coats and are generally in great health. I supplement this with wet cat food once a day, for variety and for moisture since boy cats tend to need to drink more water or they develop painful kidney stones. I also have a water fountain for them and give them watered down oat milk which they love, just to make sure they’re hydrated and kidneys are functioning well.

As soon as the bag arrived, the cats knew what was in it and about tore my hand off to get me to open it. On opening there were pink and black nostrils everywhere, they wanted these biscuits bad, so I gave them a few and they loved them. I like to mix them with a bit of wet food.

Rest glad to discover this product it’s been fantastic. My elderly cat used to vomit multiple times after every meal. I tried so many different brands but it just kept happening, and it was getting worse and worse. I’d have so many piles of vomit every day and life was getting very frustrating, I also thought she didn’t have a lot of time left in her life. Anyway, I tried this product for the first time three or four months ago, and we have not had one single vomit! Not one. I’m amazed. She is like a new cat, and my house is clean. There isn’t as much poo in the litter tray either. She’s thriving on it and I’m so happy and grateful. My other cat is also doing very well on this food – she never had vomiting issues but she’s doing well on it in other ways – she’s a small cat and she’s put a nice amount of weight on, not too much but it’s given her a lovely shape and people keep saying she’s grown. Her coat is shinier. All in all top marks for this food, I only wish I found it sooner. I have it on subscription now, I’ll use it forever. Oh it’s also been cost effective for me because the vomiting cat is eating less, because she’s not constantly hungry now that she can keep it down. It’d be nice if there was other flavours because I do feel a bit mean giving the same thing every meal, and hoping they don’t get bored of it. I’d recommend this cat food. 5/5

My 10 year old cat started throwing up every day a few months ago. Took him to the vets . They tested his blood , did other tests , everything was fine apart from him being older and needing specialFood for sensitive tummy . I paid an absolute fortune at the vets for a small bag of dry cat food and a few teeny tiny cans of wet food (£120, I know , ridiculous) . Came here , read reviews , etc , and bought this food . I continued giving him his usual wet food , either whiskas or felix but changed his usual dry food to this one and he loves it and he hasn’t thrown up since . I mean , he has like like once or twice in months but that’s just normal . It feels pricey but then , it does go a long way , so it’s not too bad at all. Thing is , my other perfectly healthy cat adores these crunchies too 😅

I’m a cat rescuer and fosterer for a local animal rescue charity and regularly receive a variety of donated pet food from local stores which I mostly distribute to other fosterers. A small amount I keep for myself and this particularly type was one of them and one I thought I’d try on the cats in my care -currently 7 adults. And, quite simply, they all love it. Without doubt it’s the single most popular dried cat food I’ever tried on them. They like it so much that, despite the higher than average price, when the donated bags ran out I ordered more from Amazon. Usually i just stick to Go Cat but this is just such good quality and liked by the cats so much I just couldn’t deny them it.Highly recommended dried food. Just don’t forget to keep a full bowl of water nearby.I should also add that the bag itself is so well designed for pouring that, despite its size, you only end up with the food in the bowl and not all over the floor.
