We have a boisterous 12 month old golden retriever who weighs 35kg. Recently he has been pulling on the lead so hard that my hips, back and knees were aching. We’ve tried the Halti lead and he wears a harness but was still able to pull with those. We do try and train him with treats and stopping etc when he pulls on the lead but just to help out I thought it would be worth buying one of these leads. I’m so glad we did as it has taken probably about 85% of the pulling away. If he sees a bird he wants to chase he can still get some weight behind him but not like before. These are things I love about this lead:1. Very comfortable to hold and the extra handle near the collar is so useful if you need to secure your position2. It seems to be training him not to want to pull. I’ve noticed a decrease in him wanting to be out in front of me and with persistent training to walk calmly next to me with some treats and rewards etc the combination of the lead and training is working really well3. Our walks are much more calm and less stressful4. We clip it on to a body harness and that works very well as he can’t pull with his neck so I think that combination is good5. Very good quality, I have no negative things to say about this lead at all

But.. these are really well made leashes. I have a saluki x bullmastiff and he pulls alot along with a lab x dalmatian.I was reccomended years ago to buy metal leashes for strong pullers which over the years has put strain on my arms, shoulders and sides from when my dog likes to bunny hop or lunge for rabbits when he sees them running (and clearly forgets hes attached!) so I done a bit of research and came across these. They are durable, strong and well made. My only gripes with them is minimal things for me personally and the dogs I have. So because I own three the sponge like D ring is rather bulky but its great for comfort which hasn’t broken down since I’ve had it (my old leash started to wear away after the rather lovely scottish weather got to them) the other slight niggle is where the traffic handle is. I feel its slightly too close to my dog and when hes in one of those “I just want to chase what I see” I often end up in a river dance of feet trying to hold the two of them close but that being said.. when they do lunge or when they do pull the strain is non exsistant. It did take some getting used to as the adjustment from a firmer leash to a springier one but the bounce effect (that’s what I call it haha!) has decreased them pulling as much. I am actually even for the little niggles going to in the future buy another for the whippet and possibly spares to keep. I’d still highly recommend and think its a fantastic product.

We chose this lead for our young dog as she loves to race after bikes and runners when they come from behind silently and take her by surprise. This results in our arms nearly being drapped out of their sockets. So we chose this bungee type lead that absorbs shocks from sudden pulling, is sturdy and gives us more control over her.The handle is comfortable too and doesn’t dig into your hand. The clip for attaching poo bag container is a bonus too.Good design. Good strong material and wish I’d got it sooner. Good value.

These are really sturdy leads ( I have 2) that greatly reduce that ‘tug’ at the end of a lead without the bungee in. I have two rescues, both 9 years old and despite hundreds spent on training they still pull like mad! 🙁 The larger german shep size is a real nightmare and after an operation on my shoulder I have found it more painful to walk her. These leads do not stop the pulling (in my experience) but when the do pull it is like it’s cushioned. The extra handle near the collar end are also a godsend. When they pull too much or if like mine have a tendency to go at speed towards other dogs you have great control. I’m sure the majority of dogs aren’t all unruly teenagers that would benefit from an asbo, but if you have dogs that are these leads will save a bit of pain at least! 😀 I also like that I could order an orange lead for my more nervous pooch that likes barking to make people think he’s braver than he actually is. I’m hoping people will see it as a RAG system (red, orange and green) and so know that he isn’t always the most approachable.Do these leads stop pulling? For me no – but they are strong, robust and do save my shoulders. I’d definitely recommend giving them a go!

I love this lead, it’s great for my large dog, my dog does pull on the lead but with this lead I feel I have complete control & the lead will pull my dog back slightly when my dog pulls too much.

Have waited a while before posting this review as I wanted to test the lead fully first. Honestly, this is the best lead we have bought for our young spaniel who does pull a great deal. Now, this lead doesn’t stop the pull as such, it doesn’t make your dog walk perfectly. That’s down to good training. It does reduce the pull significantly though. This lead is shorter than other leads and the beauty of the bungee means it takes the full impact of any pull – not your shoulder and back! The handle is brilliant and the lower grip handle is good for holding your dog close, should you need to. The first time I realised the full value of this lead was when I used the old extendable lead we had. Never again will I use that – there was just no comparison to this lead. Dog pulled so badly and the full impact was felt! I use this lead for every walk now and thoroughly recommend.

Spaniel that always pulls…this stops him and also it helps me not hurt my arms and shoulders. Excellent

I have just bought a 5 month old Great Swiss Mountain Dog puppy, and unfortunately she has not been lead trained. So in the first week of getting her and beginning out bond with her, we realised that she is a massive (27kg and growing fast!) puller that likes to hop and jump as she walks.A regular lead caused my husband to pull several back muscles the very first time he walked her, and if that happened to him, what would happen to me? Then we saw this lead, read the reviews and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed!!!This lead cushions the hope and jumps she as a puppy makes, and instantly turns a chore walking her into fun. The extra handle down near the bottom of the lead is perfect for me to help me guide her along busy streets, though my husband, who is 6’3″, says the handle is far too low for him to use comfortably. He must bend over a little to be able to use it, but it can be done.We have just switched her head collar to a Gentle Leader, and the difference is amazing! No more hopping or jumping, just a nice puppy walk. I will say that with a Gentle Leader or a Halti head collar the lower handle on this lead becomes problematic, as at the weight of the handle pulls her head downwards, which is the opposite direction it needs to go with a Gentle Leader.Overall I would say that this is the best innovation in dog leads in quite a long time, and this lead will take the shock instead of your body, guaranteed. It’s a brilliant product!

Bought it for my dog as I lost the previous one whilst she was off lead. This is my 2nd one and I particularly like it as your arm isn’t being pulled off as it has the bungee absorber in it. Have recommended it to my doggy friends.

I have a strong GS who can sometimes be quite eager on the lead. This lead helped to take the pressure off when she pulls as she takes most of it before I feel it. It’s quite a thick lead because of the spring in it so it’s not as easy to wrap around your hand if you need to bring them closer. The handle is also quite big for small hands. However, I bought it to help my back when she does pull and it’s doing the trick!
