C. Orde –
Amazon tells me that I last bought this product on 14 May 2013. That means I bought it for my ginger cat 🐈 when it was a kitten. I then acquired a second, black, cat 🐈⬛. The two cats have been going in and out every day since then, so it has lasted pretty well and is only now coming to the end of its life, with slight warping on the swinging door, which means it catches on the frame and the cats sometimes struggle a little to open it. The weatherproofing strip is wearing thin too. But for ten years of hard and daily use, I really can’t complain. The locking mechanism is small, fiddly and not robust, so we fitted a wooden frame on the inside of our door around the flap, and made a wooden door that slides into the frame from the top. We can then lower it like a drawbridge so the cats can’t go out after dusk/dinner.

Looking at the photos it seem iv been sent a different flap to what I ordered . When fitting it the cut out measurements was not accurate and the cut out hole was bigger than needed. My cat got her toe trapped in the flap, it was something iv never seen before , it was terrifying. I could not push the flap out or in the free her as it would of broken her toe, it was proper wedged. so I had to get a knife and saw at the top corner of the flap to free her. Iv had to order again just to have the same size as I have a big hole in my door now. Otherwise I would of order a different one.

The cat flap fitted into my door without any trouble and my small terrier could almost run non-stop through the flap with out any trouble with the magnets closing the flap positively.Very pleased with the Cat mate 4-Way Locking Cat Flap.

Used between house and conservatory where we keep the litter tray. Now we can close the doors and keep the Winter cold at bay and the occasional poo smell!

Good value and size. Personally would not recommend for snäll dogs, but perfect size for all cats.

Excellent quality, with great instructions meant an easy fit. Took my cat about a day to get used to it

Took my husband a while to fit in UPVC door panel because panels are always a challenge to cut.. Unfortunately the screws provided were too short but we had longer ones . Otherwise does the job.

I’ve two 10kg Maine Coons and this is fine for them. I fitted it myself using a hacksaw and chisel in an internal door. It was a little awkward and the door was more resilient than I expected, but the cat flap itself was and is great. Eventually my cats figured out how to use it.This flap means their litter trays in the cold utility corridor are now no longer selling out the kitchen as we can close the door and keep the rest of the house warm and odour free. Took a couple of hours to fit. Would take a lot less time with a jigsaw (which I dont have). My cats are about twice the size of a “normal” cat if that helps and one isn’t very bright. They are coping.

Due to the cost of living crisis doors needed to remain closed to keep the heat in the house, so I installed two on internal doors so the cats could roam when not outside
