Having no place to put one apart from our glass doors, we got this installed into a new double glazed unit and it works a treat. It’s probably easy for the glass makers to install but I wouldn’t try doing it.

Good quality and is perfect for my sizeable cat. Fitted by a glazier into a PVCu window without issue.

This is a great cat flat for big cats or little dogs. It is not ideal during winter as not very good the protection to stop draughs. .

Purchased this large cat flap for our West highland Terrier, self fitted into a newly ordered double glazed unit, works like a charm. Our 6 month old westie uses it fine, alongside our parents fully grown westies. I was concerned it would be too small for when ours got older, but seeing folks fit eased my mind.I personally worked for a glass manufacturer/wholesaler in the past so ordering replacement double glazed units based on customers dimensions used to be a common occurrence. It had also given me a fair amount of knowledge on how windows are glazed given common customer queries. This was the first time I’d ever popped a unit out and measured myself though. Most uPVC Windows are virtually straight forward to reglaze. Popped the internal beads out with a couple of flat headed screw drivers. Measured like for like replacement, knocking 2mm off the existing units sizes (most glass manufacturers work to a 1-2mm tolerance, I didn’t want it any bigger), marked the glass where I wanted the centre of the hole to be, then with the beads popped off (the DGU virtually stays in place until you push it through from the rear allowing this) you can measure from the bottom of the glass to either bottom or centre of hole to give the location and diameter or radius of hole respectively to the fabricators.Cat flap fit the given hole size perfectly. Most awkward thing was cutting the oversized screws down to suit the unit. Fit the flap to the uninstalled glass unit, marked the screws, took it apart and sawed them down, then refit the flap to the unit, and popped it in the window frame snapping the beads back in place. Results are a great fitted Cat flap which works for us and our dog.The lock is a bit of a joke really. I mean, it’s handy if you want to stop animals coming or going sure, but a person could easily unlock it from the outside. If you’re looking to DIY it, it’s fairly straight forward. Plug and play. Just be sure to be spot on with your measurements for the replacement DGU, as it would be quite expensive to order twice if you get it wrong. Although probably still cheaper or similar price to having it done for you even if you did fluff up.

Suits a large cat!!!I purchase the normal” size, had it fitted into a new glass panel – only to find my cat was too big/Fat!He’s a large, Russian blue and frankly, I should have known better! So, I purchased the larger model cat flap, new glazing for the back door – a very expensive error on my part but it’s perfect and both the cat and I are now happy! The moral of my story is:……if in doubt by the larger cat flap! It’s great quality, sturdy abd not ugly – would highly recommended

Really pleased with it. Feels really solid when fitted into the double glazed panel. Easy to install once you have the right sized hole in glazed unit. You need to be able to shorten screws according to thickness of glass and catflap. I had professional glazier make the glazed unit with hole and fit catflap. Works really well, the toggles are quite stiff but that means my cats cant work it.

Cat mate flaps are good quality.I had this fitted in a double glazed back door, you do need to have the glass panel replaced by professionals. My large cat is very happy, the door is see through with a slight tint. So he can see out.The only tiny complaint is the lock buttons are small and were stiff to move. A little oil and they’re fine now.

Got this for the patio doors when we had a ‘catio’ built there, didn’t need a chip operated one like on the back door as other cats cannot get into the catio so this was very good value. The cats find it easy to use as does one of the dogs who is medium sized and likes to be able to run around without waiting for someone to open the back door. The other dog is a little on the portly side so he can’t get though it. The flap locks easily and no batteries needed like in the chip operated one so very good product.

self locking metallic strip which stop the wind blowing it in and out – large enough for the cats to easily jump through – the only cat flap we found to go into glass when we blocked up the backdoor – hadn’t realise we have to replace the double glazing unit as. you cut cut toughen glass . excellent product .
