I have been going through the different flavors with my one year old poodle mix puppy. He’s been loving them. The only exception seems to be the white fish so far which puppy has been leaving some in the bowl. I also didn’t care for the smell my self but would have put up with it if puppy had eaten more. I bought this particular dog food due to the high meat content and none of those nasty additives. But I think the consistency of the food is great and I liked the idea of the box packaging. What I didn’t realize is how great the boxes are to store and easy to open. The boxes are also helpful in working out how much food to give and what is left to give.The boxes are easy to re seal and put the uneaten food in the fridge to eat later (My puppy picks at his food during the day eating most of his food in the evening). I would recommend to other people.

One of our dogs has been having some troubles with constant diarrhea and we think it could be an intolerance possibly to chicken, so decided to put her on a fish based diet.Our local supermarket only contained one tray meat that was only fish without other protiens added and it was not cheap, so decided to search online and came across Naturediet.I like that it has just a few ingredients. Also it was nice to see the company British and based quite nearby to us in East Anglia :)There are some reviews saying about the cartons being difficult to get the food out/portion out easily, however I did not find them a problem. As you can see from my picture, what I do is open the top, then cut the out the whole of one side. I cut it into 5 portions and use foil to cover back over and pop in the fridge. The food has still be absolutely fine after being opened 5 days being in the fridge.The fish variety is quite ‘soft’ and smooth in texture, it does help a little being in the fridge to firm it up just a touch more.The one negative thing is that they do have a rather noticeable, quite unpleasant smell. After reading through the other reviews prior to purchasing, others had mentioned also about this fact, but I thought perhaps they just meant it was a strong fish smell. However I was a bit concerned at first with an unusual smell that I can only really describe was like a combination of fish, a slight poopyness and a twang of chemicals! Yes, rather concerning, but I let the dog smell it (Labrador) and she started getting really excited and woofed it down without issue.She’s been on this (mixed with Autarky grain free fish biscuits) for a while now and not had any troubles at all despite the strong smell, and her poops are now much better too, so she must be feeling a lot more comfortable now.We will keep her on this if the price stays good. Portioning it in 5 adds extra value for money and makes it last even longer. Would be interested if they make a fish-based variety pack.

This is a good quality dog food that I give to my dogs mixed in with their kibble. I have been using this brand of food for years and ween my puppies on it.

Burn’s was my food of choice because the rice is organic and the fish recipe is good for being low fat. A family Chihuahua got pancreatitis and through research, Burn’s was fantastic as it helped her become a new dog. The thing is, I don’t need organic, but I do want the main ingredients of protein, rice, a vegetable and vitamins to nourish my own two boys, Chihuahuas also. The reason I bought this packs is that the boys were staging a protest because they absolutely MUST have wet mixed in with dry food! And me, being a big softie, decided to give in. But I didn’t choose Burn’s this time because of keeping costs down (although they have excellent ethics and are a very good brand). I decided to try this close alternative and hope for the best. Well, the boys loved it. In fact, my 1 year old teacup chihuahua stole my 8 year old’s when he was distracted – a big chunk of it! It has the consistency of a food like Chappie, which, years ago, was recommended by vets to slow down dogs who ate too quickly. That my boys like it and that NatureDiet has quality ingredients seals the deal for me. And a bonus is that, unlike Burn’s, the packaging is recyclable. The compromise is that it’s not organic, and that the fat conypf Burnsyos very low (egg and fish) if your dog has suffered with pancreatitis. For my two, this is perfect…as long as they continue to lick their bowls clean!!!!!

Purchased this product to fill kongs and licky mats to help relieve boredom for my terrier. He loves them, food is quite smelly but works great for what I purchased it for. Can get quite a lot out of one carton.

Decided to swap our 2 Newfoundlands food as one of them was itchy and I know chicken and beef are common allergens (which was the main ingredient in their previous foods)I was impressed with the ingredients in this food and it’s only a little more expensive than the Butchers tins we were giving them before!The cartons are slightly smaller than the tins (390 rather than 400g) but per carton it only worked out a few pence more.This time we bought it as a one of purchase but when we add it to the subscribe and save it’ll actually be cheaper per carton than the tins!We also bought new dry food at the same time.It’s only been 2 days and we’re still mixing in some of the old dry food so it’s too early to tell if it’ll help the itching but they absolutely love it! The one who is quite fussy and often doesn’t bother to eat breakfast has been waiting for it the last 2 mornings and I’ve never seen their bowls so clean!One of our dogs is on antibiotics and we’ve been having to give him them separately to his food as he leaves them. Now with this new food we can just put them in and he eats it with them in no problem!It’s too early to say if it’ll help with the itching (and we don’t even know if it food, it could be pollen) but taste wise this certainly hits the spot!
