How to Use Nishikoi Growth Food Pellets

Step 1 – Choosing the Right Pellet Size

Choose a pellet size that all of your fish can manage, remembering that small fish cannot eat large pellets, but large fish can eat small pellets! If you have very small fish, such as fry, you can break down the pellets by placing them in a plastic bag and breaking them up using a mallet or rolling pin or try Nishikoi’s excellent Baby Grower range!

Step 2 – Feeding Instructions

Feed your fish with Nishikoi Growth pellets three or four times per day when the water temperature exceeds 10°C (50°F) or when fish are actively seeking food. Only offer what your fish will eat in five minutes, observing them as they feed. For the cooler months, use Nishikoi Wheatgerm, but note that pond fish don’t usually require feeding when the water temperature drops below 6°C (43°F)!

Step 3 – Clear Leftover Food

If there is any leftover food, remove it after around 15 minutes so that the water does not become polluted — and reduce the quantity of feed the next time. Nishikoi Growth is a highly digestible food that produces less faecal waste than budget alternatives, which is better for your fish and your pond, saving you time and effort on pond maintenance!
